When you shop, we encourage you to utilize our wide variety of reusable bags or bring in your own reusable bags. Many communities in our Northeast region are issuing bag bans, which bar the use of single-use plastic bags in retail stores. See if this applies where you live or shop below!

In 2022, Price Chopper/Market 32:

Donated 800 tons of viable perishable food to regional food banks and their partner agencies

Diverted 5167 tons of organic waste via anaerobic digestion

Recycled:

745 tons of aluminum

1691 tons of glass

895 tons of hard plastics

892 tons of plastic film and plastic bags

23,905 tons of cardboard, newsprint, and office paper

161 tons of wooden pallets

Traveled 11,521 miles in electric-powered heavy-duty trucks

In support of New York State’s ban on disposable thin film single-use plastic bags, they are no longer available in our New York stores effective 3/1/2020. In keeping with the environmental objectives of the law, a 5-cent fee will be added for non-handle paper bags. We encourage you to bring in your own reusable bags or purchase one of ours. We have reusable paper bags with handles or polypropylene bags for sale.

In support of Dutchess County’s ban on disposable thin film single-use plastic bags, they are no longer available in our Poughkeepsie store effective 1/1/20. In keeping with the environmental objectives of the law, a 10-cent fee will be added for non-handle paper bags. We encourage you to bring in your own reusable bags or purchase one of ours. We have reusable paper bags with handles or polypropylene bags for sale.

By local ordinance, the town of Hopkinton prohibits retailers from distributing single use plastic grocery bags effective 1/1/19. In keeping with the environmental objectives of the law, we will be offering single use paper bags only until 5/1/19, as we all transition to reusable shopping bags.

Paper Bag Fee: Effective Sunday, September 1, 2019, single-use, non-handle paper bags are now 5¢ each and paper bags with handles are 10¢ each.

In support of the recent law passed in the state of Connecticut, a 10-cent tax will be charged for each thin film single-use plastic bag beginning 8/1/19. Our Connecticut stores will provide non-handle paper bags free of charge through 9/8/19 to aid in the transition to reusable bags. We encourage you to bring in your own reusable bags or purchase one of ours. We have reusable paper bags with handles or polypropylene bags for sale.
